At Peterhouse, we take safety online VERY seriously! Each year, pupils take part in online safety lessons which help them to remember HOW to keep safe when we are using computing equipment at home and at school. Every child learns what to do if they see something they don’t like or think is not appropriate for their eyes. Amongst other things, they learn what it is safe to post, what is not safe to post and what to do if they meet a cyberbully.

The school expects every pupil to adhere to its Acceptable Use policy.

On top of our curriculum offer (within Life Skills lessons), we offer the following for our children:

• Three whole school Internet Safety Days (1 per term)
• Regular information to parents using the National Online Safety resources (see below for a summary and keep an eye on our Facebook pages)
• Police Visits for Year 5 and 6 - each year the local police will visit the school to talk to Year 5 and 6 children.
• Crucial Crew visit for Year 6 - Our year 6 children visit the Crucial Crew event each year. This event is run by local emergency services and includes a talk from local police about safety online.
• NEW FOR 2022/23 - Year 6 transition project. Our Year 6 children will complete an extra project in conjunction with the high school as part of their transition work.
