Peterhouse Active Citizen Awards
Part of the Life Skills Curriculum

By the time children reach Year 6, they have been taught how to live happy, healthy and safe lives through our progressive Life Skills curriculum.
The Peterhouse Active Citizen Award (PACA) provides the Year 6 pupils with the opportunity to play an active and healthy part in the life of our school, our community and the wider world. The award is spilt into three key strands: Making More of Me, Me and My World and Learning Unlimited.
Me and My World
Children will work in small groups to carry out a project with contributes to the school community, local community or the environment. Opportunities could include: charity fundraising, supporting younger pupils, a growing project, an environmental campaign, working with the church or developing links with older people.
Learning Unlimited
The children will be given the opportunity to take part in a block of after-school sessions. The sessions will focus on the pupils learning a new life skill such as cookery.
Making More of Me
Finally, the award encourages children to take ownership of their learning. The children complete some self-directed home learning where they choose a new interest or skill to learn. The children will then have the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their new learning in school.
Peterhouse Active Citizen Award (PACA) Celebration
The awards will be celebrated in school, with parents and carers invited to come along. The pupils will receive the award on a bronze, silver and gold award basis.
Bronze: one strand of the award completed
Silver: two strands of the award completed
Gold: three strands of the award completed
Highly commended: A special award given to a pupil who has shown commitment and dedication to all three strands of the PACA award
